Student Journey Map

Our Student Journey Map showcases the complete range of services we offer to support students from start to finish. By mapping key milestones and touchpoints, it helps us better understand and optimize the student experience.

History and Purpose

CenTxCAN came together in 2008 as existing community-based college preparedness, access and success organizations in Central Texas hoped to align their efforts and resources more strategically. These organizations, which might be seen as redundant or even as competitive by funders and the broader community but in fact serve a variety of student populations with different services and needs, were not coordinating individual efforts strategically.

Initiated by College Forward, four community organizations requested E3 Alliance, as the “backbone organization” for collaborative infrastructure in education in the region, to act as facilitator. Over time, other collaborators and higher education partners were brought in. Sharing of information led to broader and deeper collaboration.

The group has initiated multiple successful collaborative grants and initiatives together, but representation has remained informal. Additional member organizations are added to the Network upon approval by CenTxCAN members.

CenTxCAN has also established a Student Success Practitioners’ Council (SSPC), which meets regularly as a learning community. Membership is informal and is generally open to any organization operating in this field throughout the Central Texas Region.

Within the Council, three sub-committees serve as the operational working arms of CenTxCAN. This charter represents a basis for CenTxCAN members to formalize their collaborative goals and objectives, and delineate the responsibilities and expectations of CenTxCAN membership.
